The President's Goals for 2007-2008


The following is a list of goals set by the president for our club this year 2007-2008:


  • Implementing “BUGS” programs in Highland View, Stonewall Jackson and Holston View elementary schools


  • Formation of a K-Kids Club at either Highland View or Stonewall Jackson elementary schools


  • Expansion of the “Shoes for Kids” program to Valley Pike Elementary School


  • Putting more emphasis on our reading program and expanding it to all 4 elementary schools we have adopted


  • Providing a Kiwanis reading rug to Valley Pike Elementary School


  • Formation of a Key Club at either Tennessee High and/or Virginia High with a $1,000 scholarship being given to a member of the club


  • More involvement with the East High Key Club and continue to provide a $1,000 scholarship


  • The addition of 21 new members during the year with a 90% retention rate


  • Co-sponsoring a new Kiwanis Club in Piney Flats, TN


  • Implementing 2 new major fund raisers


  • Greater emphasis and participation in the annual Kiwanis Prayer Breakfast


  • Greater participation by more club members in all local, division, district and international Kiwanis events
