The President's Page

I recently heard a phrase that caught my attention and made me think about Kiwanis and what Kiwanians are and what they do. The phrase simply said that Kiwanians are “ordinary people doing extraordinary things”. I thought for a moment about the Bristol club and each member and realized our club is not made up of royalty, nor is it made up of millionaires, or former presidents, or even world leaders. No, the Bristol club is made up of individuals from all walks of life. Bankers, doctors, dentist, lawyers, administrators, business owners, teachers, funeral directors, retirees and so many others make up the face of the Bristol club. We are ordinary people yet with an extraordinary purpose or goal. The goal is simply this “Give every child a chance”, a chance to be everything he or she can be.

It is a honor and privilege to serve as president of such a great club whose desire is to “Serve the children of the World”. It is my prayer and desire to follow my predecessors with the same zeal and determination to accomplish the mission Kiwanians throughout the world strive for. As we work together let us not forget our call and remain focused on our mission to “change the world, one child and one community at a time”.
